Coretta Scott King was born on April, 27 2010. She grew up on a farm in Heiberger, Alabama. She died on January 30, 2006. Coretta was exposed to racism as a young child. When she went to school she had to walk 5 miles to get to an all black, one roomed school in Marion, Alabama. As she walked to school she saw how the white kids got to ride buses to closer schools. Evan though most peoiple see Martin Luther King as the leader of the many famous marches he led, Coretta was at his side for all of them no matter what. People seeing the King's leadership soon saw it as a threat. A group of racists bombed Martin and Coretta's house in 1956. None of their family was hurt. A major way Coretta impacted the Civil Rights Movement was that she organized concerts, poetry reading, and narrations to share the Civilo Rights stories.

On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), how important do you think this person was to the movement?(Explain your reasoning in 4-5 sentences) (9 pts) I think Coretta Scott King was a 8 on the Importance scale of the Civil Right Movemnet. I think this because she stareted a part of trying to change the lives of blacks from a young age. Also because she didn't just let her husband take the lead. She started to come up with ways she could do something and accomplished it.
